We are better than our reputation" is a user-driven project where pupils with an immigrant background from Tingbjerg public school bridge to the surrounding world and each other working with video and social media.

Results

  1. The project enhances pupils' social, communicative and learning skills

  2. The pupils' confidence and belief in themself and among each other grow

  3. Pupils, parents and teachers experience that pupils get more cooperative, concentrate better and create fewer conflicts.

  4. Teachers and parents get a new, common platform from which they can communicate, and teachers find that parents become more visible and involved.

Tools

The project is based on the appriciative learning methodology zoomstory has developed. In one sentence it is decribed as: “sence with your body, reflect with your brain and share with the world”.

When pupils, parents and teachers creates their own videostories and share them through social media it leads to:

  1. Pupils find comfort and pride in new and co-creative rolls such as director, actor, journalis and webmaster etc.

  2. Through their own videostories the pupils reflect on relevant themes such as diversity, community, disciplin and helpfulness.

  3. When making videos the pupils experience and sence their new rolls as well as the theme filmed.

  4. When the pupils work as film critics, web-editors and photographers they reflect on their work.

  5. The pupils share their new rolls and themes via:

  2. 3.Through a media campaign.
